Dad Mario is worried his 18-year-old son Xavier is going off the rails. Mario’s tough background mean he has made his own mistakes in life, including a spell as an alcoholic and a period of homelessness. Now he is scared Xavier will make the same bad choices he did and is hoping two days in the wild can stop his son from following in his footsteps.

The pair take on a blindfolded river navigation task, with each trusting the other to lead them safely over the slippery rocks, and there is a gruelling climb up a sheer cliff face.

In an emotional campfire chat, mediator Mo helps Mario show a more vulnerable side to his son, and Xavier reveals what’s behind his recent lifestyle.
