Kelso 9
A mum-and-daughter showdown takes place in the Scottish Borders, with experts David Harper and Irita Marriott hoping to clinch a win for their teams.
Join Roo Irvine in the Scottish Borders as she explores highlights of Scotland’s forgotten history. In Galashiels, she visits the Great Tapestry of Scotland, a 143-metre-long artwork made of 160 embroidered panels, created by more than a thousand voluntary stitchers.
In nearby Kelso, two mum-and-daughter duos hope to sew up a win at a bustling antiques fair. In red are Carol and Sarah from Newcastle, who hope their Geordie charm will help them to win over the dealers. In blue are Alison and Jenny, who are taking a more diplomatic approach to their shopping. With expert David Harper by their side, the blues spot a glass bell, hoping it will ring up a profit at auction. Meanwhile, the reds are attracted to a nine-carat gold sweetheart brooch, but expert Irita Marriott isn’t in love with it.
Over the border in Carlisle, the bids come thick and fast for auctioneer Paul Laidlaw. The blues pin their hopes on David’s bonus buy, while Irita has an 'a-peeling' item for her reds to consider.
