Hidden Treasures and a Full-Throttle Find
After losing their mum, Annette and Bruce must clear their deteriorating family home. From a neglected motorcycle to vintage watches, Izzie and JJ uncover treasures to fund repairs.
After losing their mum following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Annette and her brother, Bruce, now face the emotional task of clearing the family home they, and generations before them, grew up in. A lifetime of memories tucked away in boxes and drawers has become overwhelming, so they have called upon Izzie and JJ to help them as the time has finally come to say goodbye to their childhood home.
To make things more difficult, after lying empty for a year, a leak has caused significant damage to the house, meaning repairs are required before it can be put up for sale. Izzie and JJ help sort the treasures from the clutter in the hope of raising some money at auction to get the house ready to go on the market.
Izzie is like a child in a sweet shop, discovering precious possessions and forgotten collectibles in every nook and cranny. Empty drawers hold hidden treasures, and a trio of vintage timepieces could be ones to watch in the saleroom. But will grandmother’s wedding veil be too sentimental for Annette to part with?
Meanwhile, JJ uncovers a neglected trike motorcycle in the shed. It has not been roadworthy for years, and bringing it back to life before auction will be no easy ride. Adding to the pressure is a Victorian stereoscope and an Ercol armchair that are also in need of his attention.
On auction day, hopes are high! JJ’s delicate restoration of the stereoscope pays off, and the trike motorcycle really revs up the bidders. But can the collection of watches help Annette and Bruce finally fix their damaged family home?
