Precious Gold Funds a Special First Meeting

JB and Saf are on a mission in Preston with mother and son Jane and Richard. Jane has amassed generations of collections that need new homes to help fund a trip to New Zealand.

Mother and son Jane and Richard are on a mission to organise generations of heirlooms that Jane has amassed over the last few decades. Selfless and meticulous, Jane wants to spare her four children the burden of untangling her history after she is gone, but with so much of sentimental value, she needs JB and Saf's help to let go of her collections.

Amongst the many treasures are the bundles of gold jewellery that once belonged to Jane’s much-loved late mum Audrey. Despite Audrey passing away 15 years ago, Jane has been unable to part with her many bangles, rings and necklaces. But for Jane, the time has come to let go of her most sentimental items, and with good reason: she's about to become a grandmother. With her son Jonathan living in New Zealand, the airfare to visit her grandchild will not be cheap, so Jane feels her mum would give her blessing to sell the jewellery and help fund the important trip across the world to meet the newest addition to the family.

More than happy to help, JB and Saf quickly get to work. JB finds auction hauls in every corner, from 1990s toys to pre-decimal coin collections and the cherished jewellery belonging to Audrey.

Meanwhile, cricket-loving Saf is in his element when he finds a dusty old cricket bat that has seen better days, and he knows just how to bring it back to life. He is also kept busy at the little blue van, freshening a tired jewellery box and a shabby old gramophone.

On auction day, emotions are high, with the precious jewellery collection finally going under the hammer. Will JB be able to drum up enough bids to get Jane on her way to have grandma hugs with her newborn granddaughter in New Zealand?
