Other Voices: Cardigan 2025 with Huw Stephens

Huw Stephens selects his performance highlights from 2025’s Other Voices festival in Cardigan, including an exclusive interview and songs from legendary Super Furry Animals’ frontman Gruff Rhys. There are beautiful folk melodies from Ye Vagabonds, jazz-tinged, off-beat hip-hop from Dublin’s KhakiKid, thrilling performances from London five-piece Sorry, genre-bending Master Peace, country-coloured psych-pop from Melin Melyn, the astonishing vocals of Róis, and Huw catches up with Cardiff’s finest feminist purveyors of punk-pop, Panic Shack, who perform gleefully anarchic songs from their acclaimed debut album.

There is also a look at the festival’s Music Trail, which showcases a wealth of emerging talent in venues all across town, plus a chance to hear Irish siblings Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta’s unique take on the Sean-nós tradition of singing.
