Episode 8

There’s no holding back with the last space, as Amanda and Alan go all out designing an outdoor kitchen and reveal the transformation of the entire house with a farewell party.

Amanda and Alan take on their last space and aim to turn the overgrown patch of land at the side of the house into a gorgeous outdoor dining area. As always, the best friends don’t hold back, with big plans for a bespoke pergola, a stone barbecue, and for the first time ever, a custom-made plunge pool!

Before they tackle the huge task at hand, the DIY duo take to the sea for a lesson in fishing. As fish is a staple of Corfiot dishes, it’s the perfect food to cook up a storm on their barbecue, but upon catching a red snapper, Amanda gets cold feet, and much to Alan’s disappointment, throws their catch of the day back in the sea!

Back at the house, Amanda and Alan face the challenging task of building their barbecue out of stone, using the ancient craft of ashlar masonry, which Alan surprisingly excels at! After a day of heavy lifting, the besties ditch their boiler suits to don their glad rags for a lesson in traditional Greek dancing in the nearby town of Kassiopi, but a huge storm that envelops the island threatens their chances of getting there.

There’s tension in the air as Amanda discovers Stamatis has built the pergola where she wanted the plunge pool, but after using her powers of persuasion, she manages to get a whole team of builders to move the enormous metal structure. Meanwhile, Alan’s having the time of his life tiling the plunge pool as builder Adonis flirts up a storm. As love looks like it may finally be on the horizon, there’s also a new guy in Amanda’s life as she whisks Alan away to visit a furry friend she’s decided to rescue.

After transforming the outdoor dining area, Amanda and Alan bid an emotional farewell to the friends they’ve made over the summer as they throw a big leaving party.
