Preparing the Turkeys for Christmas
Megan Williams meets award-winning farmer Margaret Dalton in Ceredigion, and we discover the world of husky sled dog adventures in the forests above Cerrigydrudion.
Award-winning Ceredigion farmer Margaret Dalton is at the heart of this week’s Country Focus. As Christmas approaches, reporter Megan Williams visits Margaret on her Llangybi hill farm to hear about her life and work, her long and decorated farming career, and the pressures and routines of the festive season. Margaret reflects on the resilience that has shaped her decades on the land, and shows Megan how she prepares her Christmas poultry each year, including how this season’s bird flu situation is influencing the process.
We also head to the forests above Cerrigydrudion to meet Joe Swiffen of Mynydd Sleddog Adventures. Joe introduces us to her team of huskies and explains how sled-dog activities have taken root in North Wales, offering a taste of Arctic-style adventure closer to home during the winter months.
