Linda Hamilton

Actress Linda Hamilton joins Gary Davies to choose her Tracks Of My Years.

Born in Salisbury, Maryland, USA, Linda moved to New York to study acting after finishing school. In 1984, her life was changed after starring in The Terminator as Sarah Connor alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. A slow burn success initially, it became a sci-fi classic, followed up in 1991 with Terminator 2: Judgement Day, for which Linda transformed herself with an intense training regime. She would go on to play the role one more time in 2019 for Terminator: Dark Fate.

Between these films, she took on many other roles in films, TV and theatre. She played the lead character of Catherine in Beauty and the Beast, earning a Primetime Emmy nomination. She also starred in Dante's Peak, Children of the Corn and Mr Destiny on the big screen. Since the 2000s, she's been very open about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and other struggles with her mental health and addiction.

She has just joined the cast of Stranger Things, for the fifth and final series, which finishes on New Year's Day. Cast in the role of Dr Kay, it's the culmination of the series that began in 2016 and has become one of the most viewed shows in world.
