The Snow

Dame Siân Phillips joins poets from across Wales who respond to Dafydd ap Gwilym's centuries-old poem To the Snow.

Dame Siân Phillips joins poets from across Wales who respond to Dafydd ap Gwilym's centuries-old poem, 'To the Snow'.

Together, they investigate Gwilym's life and his poetic style, unravelling the beauty of winter's past. They also explore their own personal relationships with the season and ask if our traditional image of a snowy winter scene is likely to change in Wales due to the current climate crisis.

Dame Siân Phillips also introduces us to 'The Snow', a new piece of music inspired by Dafydd ap Gwilym's poem, performed by Côr Kana at Bangor Cathedral and composed by Ian Stephens.
