Book Aid International
Around the world, millions of people have never seen or held a new book. Their only experience of reading might be a few battered textbooks. Every year, Book Aid International provide over one million new books in places where they will make the biggest difference, and we set up libraries, train people to run them and work with our partners to spark a love of reading.
Reaching readers everywhere

We work with 185 partners in 26 countries to get brand-new books to the people who need them most. We provide books to libraries, schools, prisons, hospitals and refugee camps – and even get books to remote communities on the backs of camels.
Meet Ugbaad

These books are a life-line for readers like Ugbaad. She lives in Hargeisa, Somaliland, and the books she has read have inspired her to challenge the barriers women in her community face. She plans to start her own business.
Sharing the power of books

Last year, we gave 13.1 million people the opportunity to read - but there are still far too many people who have no books. With your support, we’ll share the power of books with more people around the world.
