Renewable World
Renewable World is an international charity with a mission to transform the lives of the world’s poorest people and tackle climate change. They deliver transformative change by improving people’s access to clean energy and empowering them to create sustainable futures.
Meet Sumitra

14-year-old Sumitra lives in the remote hilltop village of Chatdanda in Western Nepal. At home and at school, water is in short supply. She has to help her mother collect water every morning, which makes her tired and late for school.
A solar-powered solution

Renewable World is helping Sumitra’s community install a solar-powered system that will lift water from the nearest source and up the 200m climb to her village. By June this year, everyone in the village will have water on demand from their own tap.
Empowering communities to thrive and education to flourish

Renewable World has already installed 37 solar-powered water lifting systems in Nepal, bringing clean water to 20,000 people & 20 schools. This has helped save precious time & has improved health & education prospects, allowing girls like Sumitra to stay in school.
