DeafKidz International
Deaf children are more likely to be abused than hearing children, yet safeguarding systems often lack the means to protect them. DeafKidz International is a small deaf-led charity dedicated to the safeguarding and protection of deaf children worldwide. Our global projects respond comprehensively to the protection, health, wellbeing and access to education needs of deaf children, young people and adults.
Ensuring inclusion of deaf children

With schools closed in India due to Covid-19, our DeafKidz Goal project offered Tayyaba, who is profoundly deaf, a space for learning and communication with her deaf peers.
Breaking down barriers

Our DeafKidz Goal project in India trains deaf adults as football coaches and provides vital life and safety skills training to deaf children in Indian Sign Language.
Educating and Empowering

Our work provides deaf children the opportunities and support they need to live safely and without the fear of abuse and exploitation. It costs £45 on average for a deaf child to access our life skills programme. Please support us this International Week of Deaf People and help us keep more deaf children, like Tayyaba, safe.
