Coming Out: From Secrets to Social Media
Conversations from the LGBT+ community in Wales about their coming-out experiences. It shouldn’t be, for but many it is one of the most important moments in many people’s lives.
Emma Goswell has interviewed LGBT+ people across the world about their coming out experiences. This summer she returned to Wales, her adopted country since her parents moved here in the 90’s, to find out what it was like for people in Welsh communities to come out of the closet. It shouldn’t be, for but many it is one of the most important moments in many people’s lives. It doesn’t even matter if you haven’t had a conversation like this yourself, or indeed ever plan to: everyone can recognise the human desire to love and be loved – and to live their life as their true self.
In this powerful, honest and uplifting documentary, we hear about LGBT+ life in Wales. It’s a story best told by the people who lived it - the people who saw change and the people who shaped the future. Emma join pairs of people together from very different generations, locations and backgrounds to explore their differences and a few surprise similarities.
