Lee struggles to keep a secret and Shula faces a potentially tricky situation

Alice hopes to see Banjo, maybe even ride him out. Shula lays out carefully her two conditions – that Banjo will be safe, and that Alice hasn’t been drinking. She leaves the judgement call with Alice. Alice decides she’ll just groom Banjo for now. Shula admires her natural affinity with horses. She reassures her that things won’t be like this forever – especially now Alice is making a positive step by accepting rehab. Alice declares she can’t picture rehab working, so what’s the point? Shula reminds Alice of a time when she calmed a nervy horse, and that she’s still that same determined little girl who doesn’t give up. This gives Alice pause for thought.
Lee’s at Honeysuckle Cottage for beer and pizza. He starts to ask Adam how he is after last week, and Adam hastily covers, diverting the conversation. Lee cottons on that Adam hasn’t told Ian about his run in with Brian. He brightly changes the subject to Adam’s upcoming birthday, leading Ian to joke that Adam will spend it at work – his obsession. Ian goes on to share an idea he has about starting his own business. Adam can’t hide his alarm, warning it’s a bad time to take such a risk. Lee’s put on the spot when they ask him his opinion. When he comes down diplomatically on Adam’s side, Ian’s huffy. Later Adam informs Lee that Brian’s sacked him. He begs Lee not to tell Ian. Shocked Lee counsels Adam to fight for whatever he wants. But it needs to be on his terms, not Brian’s or anyone else’s.
