Brian attempts to keep the peace and the Grundys hatch a plan.

Clarrie’s loving Eddie’s limo, but she reminds him it’s costly to run. Eddie promises to keep the limo for special occasions for a bit – though it is for their vows renewal. Clarrie admits to enjoying the sensation the car caused at the Lower Loxley movie night, but insists she doesn’t need it for their vows. Eddie promises to think about it selling it. Later he has a brainwave. He could do a free dial-a-ride service in exchange for tips and donations. He’s already had some money from a delighted Jill, and she’s spread the word. He’s found a chauffeur’s hat among Joe’s old things. Clarrie declares it’s very smart – he might be on to something!
Adam thinks he and Brian need to talk, but Brian’s more concerned with the bigger family crisis, and bats Adam away. He’s totally forgotten it’s Adam’s birthday, and is mortified and full of apologies when he realises. He agrees it’s time to talk, but it’s too late for Adam – Brian’s made it clear where he stands. Adam declares he’s constantly getting the blame for everything, to which Brian counters that it’s true Adam’s messed up time and again. Adam spits that everyone’s made mistakes, including Brian. They agree they can’t go on like this. Adam says he’ll leave after harvest. He understands how difficult things are with Alice. Brian apologises again – he shouldn’t have taken his stress out on Adam. Adam is also sorry. He feels a fresh start will be good for him. They both agree not to tell the family yet.
