Guest judge Sophie Conran, cook, author and designer, helps decide the winner from the two remaining chefs. Both have truly pioneering dishes but who will take the crown today?
The two highest scoring chefs from the North East, Yorkshire and Humber region go head to head and cook their six-course menus again. But will they take on board their veteran’s advice as they serve the panel of judges and one of Britain’s eminent designers?
The chefs need to impress the inscrutable judges - food writer Matthew Fort, restaurateur Oliver Peyton and broadcaster and food creative Rachel Khoo – as well as a guest judge. This week it’s Sophie Conran, renowned designer and innovator from a famous British dynasty. What will she make of the dishes celebrating British invention and innovation, including an egg dish inspired by the birth of IVF and an opulent fish dish heralding the invention of the first lifeboat?
