The dessert course is the last chance for the finalists to win a place at tomorrow night’s banquet celebrating children’s literature. Radio 1 DJ and author Greg James is a guest judge.

Some of the country’s finest chefs compete over the final place to cook at a banquet celebrating the brilliance of British children’s literature. Each rival needs to cook a dessert to impress a panel of expert judges, along with today's guest judge - BBC Radio 1 breakfast show host and joint-author of the Kid Normal series, Greg James. Not wanting to miss out on the action, Greg’s co-author Chris Smith is in the kitchen, finding out how the magic happens.

With only one place left on the banquet menu, the chefs pull out all the stops in creating dishes that do British children’s literature proud. With tributes to a wide range of books from Matilda to Paddington Bear, can the chefs keep a cool head under the pressure? The judges have their work cut out picking just one winner from a spectacular top tier of delectable desserts.
