Brian stands accused, and Kenton puts his foot in it.

The day of the public meeting about the contamination of the Am and Neil is still unwell. Emma's hoping that she might be able to step in to chair the meeting, after all she is a parish councillor so she knows how these things work. Unfortunately for her David busts that balloon; Neil called him this morning and asked if he wouldn't mind chairing it on his behalf.

The meeting gets underway and it's not long before Brian is getting grilled. He tells the audience that the Environment Agency have sorted the river he's employed a firm of specialist contractors who are to contain any further undesirable outcomes. Furthermore as a gesture of goodwill, he tells everyone that he'd like to fund some future local event, to make up for the inconvenience. The offer sounds like bribery to many and they won't stand for it, especially Kirsty. When Emma asks who knew of this chemical dump Brian protests that he certainly didn't.

During the meeting Kirsty gets into a debate with Philip Moss she accuses him of siding with the big land owner because he's a builder, rather than standing up for the countryside. The meeting falls apart with emotions running high.

Later, at the Bull Kenton drops Elizabeth in it when he tells David that Elizabeth knew about Pip's pregnancy before David did.

Alice is hitting the white wine after the disastrous public meeting. Nic tries to dissuade her from ordering another but Alice won't hear of it so Nic makes her a fake mojito without any rum. Kenton spots what she's done and gives her a warning, besides you can't start interfering in people's private business, as Kenton knows, it just makes things a million times worse.
