Adam and Ian have a memorable encounter, and Tony has important Flower & Produce news.
Tony runs into Bert at Brookfield who has been watching Johnny at work. Bert's very impressed with Johnny's ploughing. They agree to meet for a pint at The Bull, but first Bert has to talk to Joe.
Joe has a strategy to beat Cecil Jackson in the Flower and Produce but Bert isn't convinced. Tony comes over and reports that Cecil is at the bar looking very pale and he overheard him telling Jolene about "being gone soon". Bert and Joe quickly revise their plans - this could be Cecil's last show.
Adam and Ian arrive early at the adoption event, and meet another equally nervous couple, Sian and Rachid. Sian is sold on the idea of adopting, but Rachid still needs persuading. After the presentation they all reflect on the frankness of the social workers, who were very open about the challenges of adoption. Both Adam and Rachid leave feeling more positive. Ian was struck by the sadness in the children's live and how long the process takes. But Adam is inspired by the positive change they could bring to a young person's life through adoption.
