Equipped with industrial grade gloves, Adam helps Peggy take Hilda to the vets. Peggy thinks Jennifer expected her to disapprove of Adam and Ian's adoption plans, but Peggy's always thought Adam would make an excellent father. Meanwhile, Peggy hopes Alistair can recommend a way to stop Hilda killing the local wildlife. Alistair digs out a collar with a bell. Peggy wisely asks Alistair about fitting it to Hilda.

Harrison hands round a dossier on the Darrington team that Will has compiled to the Ambridge cricketers. They are all expected to study it and, after a run of poor form, everyone is eager to be in with a chance of beating their arch-rivals.

Jennifer instructs Lexi to complete the caravan cleaning before Friday, because Adam wants to give her a paid day off. Realising she'll have to work late, Lexi calls Roy to cancel their plans. He surprised her by turning up to help. Roy realises it was Constantin that Phoebe slept with over the summer. Later, Roy soaks his trousers with the hose much to Lexi's amusement. When Jennifer returns to inspect Lexi's work she overhears Lexi telling Roy to remove his trousers and underwear. Jennifer panics and flees as Roy shouts after her that it is not what she thinks!
