Ruth makes her position known, and Rex gets an invitation.

Ruth goes to Home Farm for the family partnership meeting. She votes against Adam's plan to buy a new forage harvester. Brian thanks her for taking his side, but Ruth pointedly corrects him. She was solely considering Ruairi's best interests. Alice teases Brian - did he really think Ruth would be a pushover?

Anisha worries that Rex is dropping her a hint. He's already cancelled plans to run together twice this week. He's probably busy with the girl he met on his birthday. But later after their run, Rex makes it clear to Anisha that he didn't sleep with the girl. Anisha invites him... While lying in bed they discuss the status of their relationship. Neither of them is keen to rush into anything serious. They'll just see where things go.

Jill raises her concerns about the Duxford sisters at the fete committee meeting. But everyone agrees with Fallon and Lynda - having them open the fete is a great coup for the village. Jill's only consolation is that the fete takings will be donated to the Happy Friends Café. Peckish after an evening of Aldridge politics, Ruth reaches for the cake tin but finds it empty. Jill frankly replies she has more important things on her mind.
