Shula shares all the latest gossip, and Kirsty is forced to reveal her hand.
Lexi arrives for her English conversation with Kirsty, but Kirsty has already committed to packing up the Happy Friends Café. She volunteers Roy in her place. Lexi apologises, sure he has other plans, but then she spots a Stephen King book on the shelf. Lexi and Roy discover a mutual passion for the author, and are still chatting when Kirsty returns. Kirsty jokes to Roy that he might add Lexi to his dating spreadsheet.
Jill is annoyed that Brian and Jennifer won't cancel their reservation for the Duxford Sisters' opening gala. Their prices are extortionate, and the food waste shocking. Kirsty mentions a different plan, she is thinking about protesting at a PR event next week. Jill wants to be there but Kirsty worries that standing in the street would be too tiring for her. This only makes Jill more determined to take part.
Shula drives Oliver back from the airport and they catch up on village gossip. Oliver is resolutely upbeat - Caroline would want them to remember the good times. At the Stables they discuss plans for Caroline's memorial. Oliver wants Alan to lead it, in his capacity as a friend rather than a vicar. If only Caroline could be there - she so loved a party.
