Lilian has got her hands full, and Brian gets another talking to.

Jill is hounding Fallon about the Duxford sisters opening the fete. Harrison can't understand why Fallon is hung up on what would happen if they split up. Harrison's heard from Will - he's prepared to drop his campaign to topple Harrison's captaincy. Harrison reckons this is because he's cut up about Caroline's death.

Ruth accepts the attorney role for Ruairi but makes it clear she is not a pushover and won't be used simply to support Brian's cause. Brian likens Ruth's straight-talking to the ear-bending he has had from Jill. She hasn't managed to persuade him to renege on his booking at the Duxfords' restaurant though.

Brian is enamoured with the puppy which Lilian says she is looking after for a friend. Casually she asks if he's seen Matt recently. Later, over the phone Justin can tell Lilian has a dog with her. Lilian makes up a story for why it's there. She insists she's not a doggy person. On his return, Lilian explains that the puppy was actually from Matt. Lilian is smitten with her. They decide to call her Ruby.
