Lexi has her first conversational English session with Kirsty. They get to know one another but are interrupted by a grumpy Roy who arrives home after a hard shift. Lexi gets out of the way and Kirsty chastises Roy for being rude. Later, Roy catches Lexi and apologises for his manner earlier. They share experiences of having a teenage daughter. Lexi's conscious of a group of young people on the Green.

Ruth and Jill take in the news of Caroline's death. It's a huge loss. After lunch Kirsty and Jill collect a donation for the café. Their thoughts turn to its closure. Kirsty's heard that the Duxford sisters are infamous for their extravagance and waste.

Meanwhile, Ruth has another big thing on her mind - Brian's request for her to be Ruairi's attorney. David wonders why he wasn't asked but then the penny drops about the drink he went for with Brian two weeks ago. Ruth asks David about Brian's offer. One thing's for sure she's not going to be a push over if that's what Brian wants!
