Tom is keen to attract attention, and Matt aims not to please.

Tom and Helen get on each other's nerves as they set up the Bridge Farm stall at the Borchester Food and Drink Awards. Tom wants space to promote fermented foods. Later, Helen's cheese wins best Artisan Product for the second year running. Tom collects it as Helen has had to rush home to Jack who has a temperature. But mid-speech Helen takes over from Tom to give her thanks.

Matt schmoozes Shula at Food and Drink Awards stalls and quizzes her about her attitude to the Bridge Farm housing plan. Keen to get away, Shula makes her excuses but Matt catches up with her again at the Bridge Farm stall where he tries out Tom's fermented food samples, much to Tom's irritation.

Lilian and Justin get the latest from Shula on how Oliver's coping since Caroline's death. Meanwhile, Ruby's been given the once over at Alistair's practice. Later, Lilian and Justin enjoy one another's company at the Food and Drink Awards. They're not going to let Matt cause trouble between them. Matt tracks down Lilian and asks her about her birthday. Justin and Lilian make it clear that the puppy hasn't caused any tension for them. In fact, they adore her. Matt slinks away much to Lilian and Justin's pleasure.
