Lilian has a lot on her mind, and Brian is being hassled.
Bored by bathroom repairs and sore from her riding accident, Lilian's in no mood for talking birthdays with Jennifer. Later at The Lodge Christine adds insult to injury by pointing out to Lilian how much longer the body takes to recover as one gets older.
Fallon gets a shock as she's blasted with cold water from the shower. They add the boiler to the growing list of repairs needed to Woodbine Cottage. When they approach landlady Christine however, Harrison finds himself on the wrong side Peggy's cat, Hilda Ogden. Flustered Christine apologises, and promises to find a plumber for the boiler as soon as possible. Christine confides to Lilian that the cat's a monster. Lilian couldn't agree more - but acknowledges Peggy won't see it.
Brian comments to Adam that he's on Will's side where women cricket players are concerned. The two catch up on farm matters. Adam's keen to put a proposition to the new family partnership but first they need to appoint an attorney for Ruairi. Adam's sceptical about Brian's choice of David. Alice thinks David's too old. Brian agrees grudgingly to listen to Alice's ideas, but Jennifer knows he's made his mind up. Sure enough, Brian concludes that his decision is the best for everyone.
