Matt is on the prowl, and Jill calls on past experience.

David and Ruth decide to take Kenton up on his offer of a free meal at The Bull. It's supposed to count towards Kenton's debt, but he isn't impressed at having to fit them in when the restaurant is filled with paying customers. They push their luck by ordering a second bottle of wine, and Kenton insists they vacate the table. Still, it's nice to enjoy a meal without having to worry about money.

Jill helps Kirsty run a stall for the Borsetshire Wildlife Trust. Jill remarks she hasn't done anything like this since she demonstrated kitchen equipment in a department store, before she was married. She impresses Kirsty by advocating passionately for biodiversity.

Lilian's not pleased to see Matt at the Stables. And when she runs into him later out riding, she confronts him about interfering in the Bridge Farm land deal. Matt protests his innocence. Lilian rides angrily away, but moments later she falls from her horse. Matt looks after her until the shock wears off. Lilian softens towards him as they recall their good, and bad, moments together. But when Matt tries to lean in for a kiss, disconcerted Lilian jumps back, proclaiming there's nothing between them, and there never will be. He needs to leave her alone!
