Johnny's plans fall apart, and are Pat and Tom overheard?
Freddie doesn't see the point of sitting his Maths paper. Elizabeth thinks he needs to have confidence. Nigel would never have chickened out in this situation. It turns out Freddie isn't the only one feeling down. A family emergency means Amber can't come to the Isle of Wight Festival. Johnny's gutted. As his exam is about to start, Freddie dashes out of the exam hall and goes after Johnny.
Susan's washing machine's broken down, so Pat lets her use the one at Bridge Farm. While she's in the utility room she overhears Tom and Pat discuss Justin's offer in the kitchen. Tom thinks it would be mad to turn down £1m just because Tony might be upset. Pat knows it's not that simple. But Tom's certain that if they don't accept soon Justin will start looking for somewhere else to build the houses.
After convincing Johnny that he got the date of his exam wrong, Freddie takes up Johnny's spare festival ticket. Elizabeth is frantic with worry. She isn't reassured when Freddie finally picks up and lets her know where he is. What about his exams? Freddie pretends his battery's dying, and hangs up. This time, she won't be getting her own way, it's about what he wants.
