Pip has her nose to the grindstone, and Lilian sounds a warning.

Pip invites Rex to a haymaking picnic but asks he doesn't tell Josh about the food - Josh can find out if he turns up to work. Pip is working flat out, and also waiting to hear from the agency about contract milking. After a quick break with her parents she's back out on the trailer. Josh is finally on his way. David wonders if she's working so hard to distract herself. Does she regret dumping Toby? Ruth can't believe she'd change her mind.

Rex doesn't come to the picnic. Between taxi driving and working for Josh he's very busy. Pip hopes he isn't using this as an excuse to avoid her. Rex agrees that, although the break-up with Toby makes things awkward, it doesn't affect their friendship. Pip invites him to the pub for a catch-up, but Rex can't commit to a specific time.

Over lunch Justin and Lilian raise a glass to David. Justin is grateful for his positive comments about the pig unit. Lilian warns him not to underestimate the opposition, especially with Lynda returning from holiday. Lilian has good news: Anthea Jennings is coming in to interview for Justin's PA. She has stellar qualifications and useful local contacts. She'll be just the kind of PA he needs.
