Noel Thompson talks about his love of singing and choral music, and there is music from the Seven Towers Male Voice Choir's annual concert.
This week Sing Out went to Ballymena to record the Seven Towers Male Voice Choir's annual concert. This is the highlight of the year for the choir and their fans, and always produces a lively night with a large and enthusiastic audience. John Anderson takes the opportunity to talk to the choir members and find out what brings such a large number of men together to sing.
Television and radio journalist Noel Thompson is well known for news and current affairs broadcasting, but listeners may not be aware that the other great passion in his life is singing. He is currently a member of the Belfast Philharmonic Choir, and he tells Sing Out how he has always sung in choirs, from his earliest days as a chorister in St Mark's, Dundela, to singing in the Castleward Operas for many years. Put simply, Noel can't imagine not singing!
