Shula thinks she has the answer, and Harrison has a tough decision.

Eddie hurries Joe as they set up electric fencing around the SSSI. Eddie's keen to get his dad over to Neville Booth's even though Joe doesn't want to go. Later, Harrison comes across Joe walking back to Grange Farm and gives him a lift home.

At nets Harrison notices something is up with Lily. Alistair explains she failed her driving theory test while Freddie passed. Harrison's concerned about the poor turn-out of male players. After giving it some thought he decides to pick the women over the men who haven't shown up to training for the next match.

In Joe's absence, Shula and Alistair settle Gem in with Bartleby. As the ponies size one another up, Alistair worries that they may harm one another. They have to be separated but somehow Gem gets back in with Bartleby and they accept one another's company. Joe is thrilled with the improvement in Bartleby.

Much to everyone's surprise Joe buys a round of drinks to show his gratitude for the turn-around in Bartleby's wellbeing now he has Gem for company. When Eddie worries about the expense of keeping another pony, Alistair offers to cover any costs that might arise. Joe remarks how a lively youngster can be a force for good with an old stick-in-the-mud. He's not talking about the ponies, he's referring to Anisha and Alistair. Alistair acknowledges Joe is probably right!
