Ed's prospects take a hit, and Emma finds an ally.

Pip tells Ed that Brookfield won't be able to offer him or Eddie any work while they recover from the costs of the IBR outbreak. But the shearing next week won't be cancelled. Later, Pip hears about the troubles with Bartleby from Clarrie and expresses her sorrow for Bartleby's ill-health as well as Brookfield not being able to offer work to the Grundys.

Ed, Emma and the kids join Nic and Will for dinner. They talk over the IBR outbreak, then the subject of George staying over at Greenwood Cottage more often. Will outlines his concern and is surprised to hear Ed sound his agreement. Nic helps Emma talk down Will over his concerns for George with Emma now regularly working late hours. She also points out that Will hadn't asked her if she was happy to have George over more often. Will admits he had been a bit hasty. Later, Emma thanks Nic for sticking up for her taking on a new job.

Alan chances across Pip deep in thought. Pip opens up about her guilt over the IBR outbreak. Alan comforts her and suggests she takes some positive action to show her dedication to Brookfield.
