Brookfield tightens its belt, while Grange Farm holds off an eager visitor.

As David delivers beef to the Bridge Farm shop, Helen and Tom both try to smooth things out after their families' falling out. Tom explains to Helen that, with no partner or kids, the farm is his only concern. So, when it's threatened, he's defensive.

At Helen's mention of a local dawn chorus walk, Kirsty starts thinking about setting one up in Ambridge. They start plotting a route and Kirsty's reminded about the Site of Special Scientific Interest (S.S.S.I) at Grange Farm. She wants to visit it but Eddie's told her to wait until next month.

Pip discusses money-saving options at Brookfield with her parents - they'll have to scrap an upgrade to the milking parlour and David and Ruth's holiday. David doesn't want Jill to know how bad things are. Pip admits she gave her profit from last year's herbal leys to Toby. Despite David's anger, Pip's keen not to have any more secrets. Ruth later admits she already knew.

Toby tells Pip there's no way he can return the £5,000 she lent him, not even in small instalments. He insists he needs all of Kenton and Jolene's money to go towards making gin. Pip expresses her regret at the investment which annoys Toby.
