Adam is made to wait, and Rob works the room.
To avoid any embarrassment at the Borchester Land Christmas party, Brian tells Debbie about Lilian and Justin but she's already heard it from Jennifer. Brian's keen to seal the deal on the Estate land he would like to buy. Meanwhile, Jennifer has been roped into Kate's last minute costume-making.
At the party, Rob tells Justin he doesn't care what people are saying about him then he makes a bee-line for Debbie. He smoothly says what a good team they once made but Debbie's having none of it, comparing 'charmer' Rob to her own violent ex-partner.
Ian is reminded of the anonymous hip flask gift Adam received last year - who was it even from, anyway? Later, With Ian occupied with a crisis in the Grey Gables kitchen, Rob joins Adam and asks if he's missing Charlie. Ian returns with vigour and whisks Adam off onto the dance floor with a kiss, offering Rob his warm beer.
Debbie mentions to Justin the friction the land purchase is causing in the family and suggests the land could be parcelled up into smaller chunks. Later, she points out to Brian that the future of Home Farm is Adam. If he's not on board, the land purchase will mean nothing. Brian is resolute that it's happening whether Adam likes it or not.
