Episode 4
Penny Gore presents the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Elgar's Symphony No 2, plus the BBC Concert Orchestra in a folk-music inspired concert.
Penny Gore concludes her week of performances by the BBC Symphony Orchestra with Elgar's Second Symphony performed in Utrecht during a recent tour to the Netherlands. Plus, in the lead up to Radio 3's Folk Connections weekend, a folk-music inspired concert celebrating British music and beyond by the BBC Concert Orchestra. Recorded in Chichester in November, it includes works by Britten, Arthur Wood and Moeran, with guest artists Nancy Kerr - winner of the 2015 BBC Folk Singer of the Year - and her husband, James Fagan.
