When Afia declares she’ll only keep up Yusef’s lie provided he leaves Walford, he’s forced to admit to Zainab that he started the fire in Pakistan. Distraught, Zainab seeks refuge in the Minute Mart, lying to Denise that she’s argued with Masood. Later, a steely Zainab orders Yusef to leave. Yusef pleads that he loves her - he only did it because she’d left him. Upset, Zainab doesn’t know who he is anymore but later defends Yusef’s actions to Afia. As Yusef prepares to leave, he’s floored when Zainab declares it’s time to put the fire behind them and get married. C/H
The Square’s woken early as police raid Phil’s properties. They’re unable to find anything incriminating but Phil’s frustrated to discover another mystery gift in the Arches – a bottle of whiskey. Shirley suggests Jack never lost the file on Phil. When Jack reveals he’s discovered Ben’s fingerprints in his flat, Ben’s forced to admit he and Jay were there the night Amy nearly drowned. Roxy’s horrified that Ben’s mistake has cost her Amy. Phil gets a text message – the mystery stalker wants £2000 in cash.
After the raids, Anthony’s adamant that the booze and fireworks are moved from the Emporium. Patrick offers to store them at the B&B – for a fee. Alfie’s happy to learn that Shenice can stay for Christmas. When Kat tries to talk about her night out, Alfie avoids the topic. Later, Alfie assures Derek he’s moved their stock elsewhere.
Michael claims he can match Janine’s investment in their ladies gym, Janine reveals she knows he’s broke. Michael insists he’s grafted for everything he owns - he thought she loved that about him. Later, Janine finds Michael at the gym. Smiling seductively, she locks the door and starts to strip.
