The Mission
Drama in which an 18th-century Jesuit priest establishes a mission in the South American jungle and recruits the help of a former slave trader paying penance for his past sins.
Drama set in the South American jungle in the 18th century. Father Gabriel, a Jesuit priest, establishes the outpost mission of San Carlos with the hostile Guarani Indians. But these remote natives are also a valuable source of slaves for the governing Spanish and Portuguese, and soon Father Gabriel finds his own life in the greatest danger.
