The English Patient

Sweeping romantic epic set at the end of the Second World War. A badly burned and unidentified pilot recounts a doomed love affair to the nurse tending him.

Romantic epic. During the end of World War II a badly burned man lies in an abandoned Italian monastery, watched over by a French Canadian nurse. Nobody knows who he is or how he received his injuries. Then, the 'English patient' tells his tragic story of a passionate affair with a married woman, and of a betrayal.
