Nigel and Elizabeth discover the truth.
Alice reports to her mum that her joint party with Adam went really well. She is noticeably cooler with Brian. Brian offers to take her to the airport when she leaves, but Alice is non-committal. Following Adam's advice, Brian then tells Jennifer he's booked a holiday for them, and will arrange to take Ruairi over to Ireland while they are away.
Kathy tells Nigel and Elizabeth what Owen (now called Taylor) did to her before he left so suddenly. Nigel and Elizabeth are naturally appalled. Nigel is furious, while Lizzie wishes she had realised something was so terribly wrong. They both feel that Kathy is only at the start of a long and difficult journey.
