David and Ruth are helping with the grape picking at Lower Loxley. Ruth wants to talk about her appointment at the hospital, but David tries to avoid the subject, and takes advantage of Kenton arriving on the scene by asking for a lift home, much to Ruth's despair. In the car, David reveals to Kenton his worries about Ruth's real motive for having the reconstruction. Kenton presses David to talk to Ruth.

Fallon arrives at the grape picking, to wish Ed a happy birthday. Ed's surprised when Fallon reveals she's got a present for him. He needs to come to the Bull to get it, but he tells her he's already meeting the boys for drinks there at six, so he'll see her anyway. Later, when Fallon gives him his present he's really pleased and so desperate to show Tom that Fallon loses her chance to 'talk' to him.

Kathy's finding it hard to be at work. She thinks that once Nigel and Elizabeth find out about Owen/Gareth Taylor, they won't believe her side of the story. Kenton tries to calm her down, but she gets more worked up, thinking that once Taylor finds out she's made an accusation, what's to stop him coming to find her?
