There's a rude awakening for David and Ruth.

David gets a rude awakening when Ruth calls early in the morning to tell him that four cows are dead in the field. After summoning Alistair, David joins her in the field, and they share a tense few moments as they wait for him to arrive. After thankfully establishing that the cows haven't died from anthrax (much to David and Ruth's relief) David spots some bags that have been fly-tipped in the corner of the field. The bags are full of yew clippings - prompting Alistair to immediately diagnose that the cows died from yew poisoning. David is furious.

Jill is sympathetic when she hears the news about the cows, but Ruth is still keen to go through the options she's discovered for Phil and Jill's anniversary trip. David tells them that he's discovered that some of the bags were actually Grundy compost bags, so he's decided to give Eddie a call to see if he knows anything. David draws a blank - but remains determined to find out who's responsible, and make them pay.

Will and Nic enjoy a fun date with their children at the Sea Life Centre. It's clear that they get along - and Will is pleased when Nic readily accepts his offer of another date at Lower Loxley.
