The Way We Were

Hugely successful romantic drama following the 20-year relationship between a political activist and a wealthy socialite. Academy Awards for best score and best original song.

Left-wing firebrand Katie and preppy, carefree Hubbell meet at college in the 1930s and have nothing in common, but slowly begin to see the best in each other. Meeting again after the war, they fall in love and marry. With Katie's encouragement, Hubbell begins a career as a Hollywood screenwriter, but their differences remain.
