Horror thriller about a 19th-century doctor who becomes addicted to the drugs he is using when experimenting to make operations more bearable. After a failed demonstration of his new techniques, the doctor loses his job and his access to the drugs. Finding himself down on his luck in a seedy tavern, he is unable to refuse when two grave robbers offer to supply him with narcotics - but at a grievous price.
