Frontier drama in which an outlaw gang and a fugitive army officer join forces to wage a private war against a back-stabbing detective.

Western. At the end of the Civil War, Yankee officer Jeff Clanton organises the break up of the Quantrell Raiders, a gang of notorious guerillas, promising them pardons and the chance of a new life. But bounty hunters have a vested interest in preventing their rehabilitation and frame Clanton for murder.
