Jack on the goes missing list.

Ruth is now in charge of the dairy herd and enjoys her first morning's milking. David comes to see how it's going, and tells her she looks at home in there. Ruth refuses his offer of help because she want to prove to herself that she can cope, but she regrets her refusal when David feels a bit rejected.

Alice looks after Jack while Peggy takes some time out to go to church. He wanders off and a very distressed Alice phones Jennifer. Alan and Jennifer set up a search party and Alan finds him in the churchyard, very confused. He doesn't know who Alan is, and he's afraid. Alan calms him and takes him home, then talks seriously to Peggy about how she must give herself time out from this very stressful situation. Alice is very upset. Unaware that he was the cause, Jack comforts her.
