From "currant buns" to models of the Matterhorn?

Gardening writer Stephen Anderton explores the changing fashions in rock gardening - looking at the influence of the Northamptonshire landowner who wanted a landscape for his gnomes and the diminutive Yorkshireman who described his alpines as "sulky" but who changed our view of the rockery.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2004.
