Highlights of BBC Music Day in Bristol

BBC Music Day in Bristol was a truly inclusive event. Set in the foyer of Bristol’s iconic Colston Hall, conductor Charles Hazlewood and members of the world renowned British Paraorchestra performed four original pieces alongside youth and adult choirs from across the West Country. This collaboration included young people with special educational needs and disabilities who performed on custom built instruments using new assistive technology.

The concert included around 200 children from the Bristol Youth Choir and members of the OpenUp Music Orchestra. The entire event showcased a celebration of accessible music, performed and enjoyed by all, regardless of age, background or disability.

The concert was broadcast on BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Somerset, BBC Radio Gloucestershire, BBC Wiltshire and BBC Radio 3.

The One Show showcased highlights of BBC Music Day events from across the country including a performance from Colston Hall.

BBC Points West broadcasted highlights of the event.

The programme was also be multicast on three community radio stations in the West Country: Somer Valley FM, Bradley Stoke Radio and Bristol Community FM.
