Six new songs you need to know this week (22/01/18)

Sigrid may have won the BBC's Sound Of 2018, but the new music definitely doesn't stop there this year at Radio 1.
These are the brand new songs chosen by Radio 1 DJs as their tunes of the week and sure to bring something fresh to your daily routine.
The Sherlocks - Chasing Shadows
(Warning: Contains flashing lights and may contain adverts)
There isn't enough uplifting indie around right now, especially with Blossoms AWOL working on a second album. But fortunately, The Sherlocks are on hand to brighten things up a bit.
The band are already favourites with Radio 1 tastemakers Annie Mac and Huw Stephens and after support from Greg James and now Adele Roberts, this Yorkshire four-piece are making the moves into the mainstream. The band have already made a splash on the festival scene having played Reading and Leeds in 2016 and with bouncy anthems like this, they'll be headed towards headline slots in no time.
Mella Dee - Techno Disco Tool
(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)
Well hello there retro disco banger. If there's not enough 'uplifting indie' around right now, there's definitely not enough disco. And if you're going to bring disco back in 2018, then there are few acts better to sample than Sister Sledge, undisputed queens of the seventies dancefloor (although their song Pretty Baby wasn't released until 1980).
The Mella Dee remix adds a solid beat under the Sledge family's tight harmonies and this tune is guaranteed to get you going in the AM.
Jus Now x Dismantle feat. Busy Signal - Fire (Spotie)
(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)
Somehow it's still January, but that doesn't mean it's not too early to start thinking about carnival season. This will help get things going.
Big trumpets, big beats and a BIG vocal, this track gives Major Lazer, the reigning kings of carnival anthems, a run for their money. In fact, the vocalist on Fire (Spotie), Busy Signal, previously worked with Diplo and co on one of their biggest hits - their 2013 tune, Watch Out For This (Bumaye).
Cliq - Wavey
Getting 'wavey' isn't just thing your gran does in her front window when you go home after visiting, as this dance duo are here to prove.
Wavey is a certified banger and is making serious waves since MistaJam made this track his tune of the week on 1Xtra in December 2017.
Tom Grennan - Sober
(Warning: Third party video may contain adverts)
A big new talent and a big new voice for 2018, Tom Grennan is probably best known for his work on Chase & Status's massive 2017 tune, All Goes Wrong. But he's soon to be 'best known' for his solo work, such as tracks like this.
Sober is packed with dramatic strings and powerful brass and if James Bond was 30 years younger, this would make for one hell of a Bond theme. Keep your eyes on this chap, big things beckon.
Mabel feat. Not3s – Fine Line

Mabel - Fine Line (feat. Not3s)
Annie Mac's Hottest Record for Thursday 18th January 2018.
Mabel scored one of 2017's biggest urban hits with her infectious single Finders Keepers. There's plenty more where that came from, as she proves here on her new tune Fine Line.
Mabel is joined here by grime star Not3s, who she worked with previously on his track My Lover, once again sparking pure fire from their time together in the studio. Expect this one to follow Finders Keepers towards the top of the charts and set Mabel on her path to proper pop stardom.
