If you’re attending 1Xtra Live we want you to have a great time, so please take note of the things we are doing to help everybody have a safe and enjoyable experience. There are also a few things you can do to help as well.
- Everyone attending the event will be required to walk through airport-style security arches. Your bag may also be searched upon entry.
- It is a condition of entry that the ticket holder consents to being searched.
- Security staff will be visible and on patrol both inside and outside of the venue.
- Sniffer dogs will also be on patrol.
- A network of CCTV cameras are in operation.
- We’ve worked closely with the West Midlands Police to plan a safe event for everyone.
- Anyone believed to be under the influence of alcohol will be refused entry or asked to leave. Anyone found in possession of illegal substances will be refused entry and handed over to the police.
- Please DO NOT bring backpacks, holdalls, luggage and oversized bags and please note, bags larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm will NOT be permitted – there will be no exception.

Doors at the Arena will open at 18:00 for ticket holders to enter the venue. The first performance will start at 19:30, with the event finishing around 23:00.
Please allow sufficient time for entry – all audience members will have to pass through metal detectors and will be searched.

TRAVEL TO / FROM THE EVENT
*How do I get to Arena Birmingham?
The Arena Birmingham is on King Edwards Rd, B1 2AA.
Nearest Train Station: Birmingham New Street, Moor Street, Snow Hill and Five Ways train stations are a short walk away. Buses run past the Arena all day long. If you’ve travelled by coach to Digbeth coach station, the Arena is a 30 minute walk or a short taxi ride.

If you are arriving by car or taxi, but do not require parking, you need to be dropped at the bottom of the main steps on King Edward's Road, then follow the boardwalk to Entrance E.

LOST PROPERTY
To claim any lost items after the event please call the venue on 0121 6447010. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
SAFETY, SECURITY & BAG POLICY
Security will be present throughout all areas of Arena Birmingham and all door staff will be conducting mandatory security checks upon entry. It is a condition of entry that the ticket holder consents to being searched.
All the audience will be required to pass through airport-style security arches and have their bags searched on entry. If items are detected by the arch then a detection wand or past down search may also be carried out. Anyone believed to be under the influence of alcohol will be refused entry or asked to leave. Anyone found in possession of illegal substances will be refused entry and handed over to the police.
Bags larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm are not permitted. That’s the size of an A3 sheet of paper.
Please allow for additional time for security checks when arriving at the event.
Prohibited Items
The following items are NOT permitted at this event so please do not bring them with you. Prohibited items will be confiscated by security upon entry and will not be returned. It’s a condition of our venue licence that certain items are not allowed into the Arena in the interests of health and safety. These items include, but are not limited to:
- Backpacks, holdalls, luggage, oversized bags and cushions. Please note, bags larger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm will NOT be permitted – there will be no exception.
- Aluminium bottles or thermoses of any kind including liquid products which can be consumed
- Animals (except service animals to aid persons with disabilities)
- Alcohol
- Air horns
- Aerosol cans (hairspray, deodorant etc.)
- Hot food
- Glass bottles
- Flasks
- Cool boxes
- Hampers
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Laser pens / pointers
- Laptop computers, iPads or Go Pro's
- Large / golf umbrellas
- Signs, banners or flags on poles
- Knives of weapons of any kind
- Helium balloons
- Studded belts
- Dog collars
- Trouser chains
- Selfie sticks
- Sharp/large rings, studs and chains
- Smoke grenades
- Flares
- Balloons
- Fireworks, confetti or glitter bombs or sprays
- Projectiles (Frisbees, beach balls, footballs etc.)
- Whistles, cow bells or other noise-making distractions
- Flammable liquids in any container
- Video cameras and professional cameras
- Use of wheeled footwear or skateboards
- Masks or helmets
If in doubt, leave it at home would be our recommendation. Please note, prohibited items vary on a show-to-show basis, so please refer to your ticket terms and conditions for any items that are not allowed into the venue.
Anyone found to be intoxicated will be refused entry or will be asked to leave.
Do not bring illegal drugs including former legal highs to the event, anyone found to be in possession of these will be denied entry or ejected from the event and handed over to the policy. Sniffer dogs will also be in operation.
HOW CAN I LISTEN / WATCH?
1Xtra Live will broadcast live from the Arena Birmingham across 1Xtra, Radio 1 and Asian Network between 7-11pm. 1Xtra will capture all of the pre-show backstage build-up with 1Xtra Live: The Warm Up between 4-7pm, only on 1Xtra.
All of the performances from the event will be streamed live on the BBC Radio 1Xtra website, iPlayer and mobile sites. Performances will also be available to watch post event on the BBC iPlayer for 30 days as well as the BBC Radio 1Xtra YouTube channel.
