Thomas hates school!!!!
Thomas especially hates school on Mondays because he has maths all afternoon!
Thomas looks at his alarm, 7:30, he moans as he slops out of bed. He starts to get ready, thinking about the day ahead as he brushes his teeth. He knows he has maths all afternoon. He normally gets quite frustrated in maths, the girls constantly chat about fashion and hair styles. The boys are even worse, messing about and causing trouble. The only good thing about the boys is when they talk about Minecraft, but he would never let anyone see that he is listening.
He normally has to stay in at playtime to do boring work but he would rather go outside!
He knows he has to go and starts putting on his clothes. He doesn’t like wearing the cheap polyester tie and trousers, they are so itchy! He feels as though he is the most disliked and unwanted person in the school, he’s sure that even the teachers have it in for him!
All too soon he’s getting on the bus. All the cool kids are sitting at the back making lots of noise, mucking around and throwing things about. Thomas doesn’t want to draw any attention to himself, so he sits at the front of the bus trying not to be noticed.
Eventually the bus stops near the school. All the kids, who are unbelievably loud, pile off the bus. Thomas waits until the last possible second until he gets off, making sure that the children have gone on far ahead. As he arrives at this big old creepy building he spots Mr Bramble the PE teacher. Mr Bramble is the teacher Thomas fears the most. Mr Bramble was leaning against the handrail at the top of the steps just outside the school entrance. Mr Bramble was checking all the children to make sure that they had the correct uniform on.
“BOY WHY HAVEN’T YOU GOT YOUR TIE ON” He would shout. “HURRY UP NOW! YOU WILL BE LATE”
Thomas wants to avoid Mr Bramble so he sneakily goes around the back and enters the creepy school. He pushes his way through the crowds of people, slowly making his way along the corridor. Everyone is chatting, but even above the noise he is sure he can hear the children whispering and saying things about him. He wishes he could stay at home all day and play Minecraft!
At the end of the corridor is the Head Masters office, the door seems imposing and bigger than the others. Already there is a queue of children waiting, no doubt sent by Mr Bramble to be told off by the Head.
Thomas reaches the door and looks up at the brass sign.
Mr Thomas Cartwright
HEADMASTER
He looks around at the queue of children. “Good morning Mr Cartwright” they all say. Thomas enters his office and wonders how much longer he will be doing this job in this old creepy school!
